James Kydd's career in the energy sector began when he attended University of Alberta where he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then augmented this educational foundation by completing several other advanced engineering credentials and industry-specific certifications which equipped him with the technical expertise needed to excel in the complex oil and gas sector. Throughout his career, James has held various high-level positions, including Quality Lead, Project Manager, Construction Manager, and Senior Operations Manager. His extensive experience spans all aspects of pipeline and facility construction, and he has been given charge of several billion-dollar infrastructure projects, such as the Trans Mountain Expansion Pipeline, the Coastal Gas Link Pipeline, The North Montney Mainline, and Seven Gens Gathering. In overseeing these ambitious works, his responsibilities have included overall project planning, scheduling, cost management, and ensuring the highest possible quality standards. Known for his hands-on approach and leadership skills, James has also cultivated a reputation for working with stakeholders from all walks of life, including union leadership, third-party contractors, and private landowners. His ability to establish and maintain business relationships has been a cornerstone of his success, earning him recognition throughout the Western Canadian energy industry.
